We're have now issued shares in for our community pub!
Three days to go until we open the Sun Inn as a community pub for Eryrys and wider community!! Thank you to landlady Vicky Tommy for her incredible years at the helm of the Sun Inn. Now the countdown begins for the next venture - our community pub. Thank you to everyone who has pledged support - we now have our Sun Inn Community Pub Limited bank account in place and you will have received your invoice so that you can realise you pledge of financial support. Of course if you would still like to pledge your support for our community pub it's not too late and you can do so here.

Welcome to the Sun Inn Community Pub Project
24 March 2026: Breaking news!
Things are moving quickly with our Sun Inn Community Pub Project. We are now in the position of signing the lease for the Sun Inn with a view to taking over the management of the pub on the 1st April 2026.
Consequently, we need to meet with the community so everyone can hear what this means for us all and so you can give your support for the signing of the lease. This meeting is in line with the rules of the Community Benefit Society because keeping the Sun Inn at the heart of our village is for the benefit of the whole community.
There will be an open meeting on Tuesday 24 March 2026 at 6.00pm in Canolfan Dewi Sant. Everyone is welcome. The meeting will discuss three issues:

Content of the lease and a vote to go forward

Turning the financial pledges into money and issuing shares so that we are able to transition to a community pub

General progress update
The open meeting will close at 7.00pm and will be immediately followed by a meeting with our community pub volunteers so we can start to discuss some practical issues.
This is very exciting, if not a little daunting but together we can do this.

We are now at an exciting phase in our work to establish the Sun Inn, Eryrys as a community pub. In the coming weeks we hope to have agreed the lease that will turn the Sun Inn into our community pub.
Having reached this milestone, we are now able to turn all the pledges made so generously across the community into shares for our Sun Inn Community Benefit Society.
Buying a share makes you a member of our community benefit society and gives you a say in how it is run. Each member has one vote, no matter how many shares they buy. The cost of one share is £100 and this is the minimum amount you can invest.
A £100 contribution gives each member:

a £1 membership share, and
-
99 x £1 community shares.
You must be at least 16 years old to invest, but shares can be bought on behalf of a child
The steering group has worked to develop a share offer for our community benefit society in line with the Co-Operative Society Financial Rules. All the details of our share issue are available here.
It is not too late to make a pledge and you can still make your pledge.
